At Divergent Health Clinic, GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is a type of medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. It works by slowing down intestinal motility-food sitting longer-feeling fuller, increasing the production and release of insulin from the pancreas, reducing the production of glucose in the liver, and slowing down the absorption of carbohydrates from the digestive system.
